This seems most likely. Like Lawwell himself, promoted from within. Don't think they can risk another failed project from outside, even if success could provide them with the much needed facade of respectability, they were clearly aiming for with McKay.Nicholson, the 'acting CEO and pal of DD and PL will keep the position.
Add we go top & not got out of 2nd gear all season , just happy days .It's been a great week. Daily Record, Janey Godley, the wee Japanese gets injured and their CEO does a runner.

Makes a mockery of the so called mhedia and their claims of biased reporting from the likes of H&H in their battle for info. Claiming they would ask the questions that everyone wanted to hear and not our fans supposedly trying to impress Gerrard with weak questions. They are not asking the questions even the Tim's want answers to. Just goes to show them up for what they are.......in the pockets of their paymasters. The fact that no one in the media asks the most obvious question, about why they find it so hard (and take so long) to employ people, when it should be a straightforward process, is damning in itself. And the fact that their own fans do ask this question (and others) but still don't allow themselves to consider the obvious answers, is even more diabolical. Sick cult with too much to hide and cover up. Plain and simple
Or wouldn’t do as he was told when he was toldGood comment. Bankier's comment about the new guy being a 'team player' might imply that McKay wasn't. Or, to put it another way, wasn't on DD's team.
So what's Strachan's involvement supposedly an adviser capacity, come on,he'll be a DOF in there in all but name.He tried to modernize the company. They seem dead set against having a director of football I wonder why
His first role at Celtic was at Company Secretary. A role he held for more than six years before being promoted in December 2019 to the newly-created post of Director of Legal and Football Affairs.
wonder if he'll get a promotion at Dundee as well?!Would he take it though?
“Ayyyyyyye”
Looks like he's still one of 27 UK based arbitrators for CAS. Looks like we've beat the latest attack by SPFL/SFA but if we do have to go to CAS Celtic's CEO will have access to that arbitration also being directly involved with Maxwell and Doncaster.Check last paragraph !!
Michael Nicholson – current Acting CEO
Nicholson is a man who knows the day-to-say running of Celtic, having been there since 2013.
He was brought to the club by Lawwell having previously been a Partner with law specialists Harper Macleod and a Council Member for the Law Society of Scotland.
Nicholson has additional qualifications from Harvard University in the United States having studied law at Glasgow University.
His first role at Celtic was at Company Secretary. A role he held for more than six years before being promoted in December 2019 to the newly-created post of Director of Legal and Football Affairs.
He also works on the Scottish FA’s Professional Game Board alongside Ian Maxwell and Neil Doncaster, as well as an Arbitrator for the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
It always seems strange how they seem to get amazing fees for players who are either average, almost out of contract, or both. It's also strange how they always seem to sell so many season tickets, even though there may be many vacant seats. It always seems strange, to me at least, that their books balance. Dom would have been the guy to have to sign these off. But I guess there could be many other reasons
Would love it if he got DOF, a dinosaur who knows nowt about modern day football operations, Guess we’ll see ina couple of monthsSo what's Strachan's involvement supposedly an adviser capacity, come on,he'll be a DOF in there in all but name.
It’s their culture they can’t help themselves …lock up the guy who says the world isn’t flat. Long may it continue. Fact vs fiction, reason v superstition, challenge v acceptance…This seems most likely. Like Lawwell himself, promoted from within. Don't think they can risk another failed project from outside, even if success could provide them with the much needed facade of respectability, they were clearly aiming for with McKay.
It's a recurring theme. They really don't like 'outsiders' very much do they? Like they have too much to hide and keep internal.
I said when Lennon was still there long before he was booted, that ditching him put them in all sorts of problems (especially with the particular clouds hanging over them about to burst). They needed Lennon to be there when the sh!t started to hit the fan and I really believe they thought he would be (in fact that was the reason he was probably brought back in the first place against all reason and common sense. Clearly he wasn't reinstated for just footballing reasons). That's why he lasted far longer than he should. They were really hoping he could somehow ride the storm. But we well and truly torpedoed that cosy setup. The real problem was, they'd already went through all the sellik minded managers worth their salt. So it was no surprise to me that it took so long to find a 'suitable' replacement, and when they did, he would be plucked from relative obscurity, someone looking for that big break so would do as he was told and be grateful for it, and wouldn't be allowed to bring in anyone of his own choosing (pathetic). Howe wasn't having any of that last part. So enter Patsyoglou (interestingly a 'promotion' from within the Man City group) and their propaganda machine kicked in as usual. First for Howe, then against him when he dared to cross them. Then for Ange Nobody, the saviour. Nauseatingly predicatable. Turning the 'We'll get wan a the best manajurs in the world' brigade into 'he's wan a the top 10 manajurs in the world' brigade. A guy the vast majority have never even heard of. Mentalists.
And I think now most people will realise (and it's backed up by his own statements) that even he (being a risk) is pretty much completely isolated and firewalled from anything that goes on above him. He's a coach installed to look after the playing side and that's it. Everything else is 'need to know' basis it would seem. The place is run like a military intelligence organisation or perhaps more accurately like an organised crime group with orders filtered down from above, with little or no say or input allowed back up the chain. Absolutely no transparency whatsoever and they don't trust anyone unvetted/untainted. And if they didn't already have such a grip of the media in this country, perhaps all this wouldn't be getting ignored and would be highlighted far more and be a much more prominent topic of discussion.
Instead, as it stands, these abnormalities only creep to the surface when things aren't going well on the pitch. Then all of a sudden it's; "Why is there no transparency? Why do we not know how 'OUR CLUB' is run and who's signing players etc? Where's our shareholders? Why is DD so quiet? Why are they taking money out the club?" But as soon as they're winning again, the silence returns and normal operations resume.
So now they have the exact same problems installing a DoF (on top of a new CEO again). Quelle surprise!!! Is this what's happening with Strachan right now? Is he being trialled to see if he 'fits the profile' before a permanent switch (with much compensation to Dundee of course)? Can't just interview folk and employ the best candidate for the job like any other normal institution. Noooo, they must clear the 'cult test' as well, otherwise they become a threat instead of an asset. A club like no other indeed.
It is distaseful to talk about but if they get their just deserts in the courts,no one will want to touch or be connected to these rancid b@stards other than the Record and Snyde.Music to my ears.
They're running their club like a bygone relic from decades ago and all that spare capacity they had, where they could run their club like rank amateurs from a drinking club and stroll to success, is gone.
Their successful team is all but gone, their successful managers are gone, their new manager is some guy from Australia that got the job after drinks with the rest of the City Group, their coaching staff is literally the same as last year, the owners are running about actively sabotaging any sort of modernisation effort and their "recruitment team" is comprised of the luddite Strachan, Pistol Pete, the owners son and a bunch of agents who want a payday.
Superb.
If this guy has all these qualifications , Glasgow , Harvard , Partner at top law outfit , why would he spend six years as Celtic secretary. Hard to comprehend.Check last paragraph !!

Is this serious? It really is a closed shop & absolutely nothing dodgy going on at all guvThe sun reporting 4 people in the running, this Nicholson c*nt and then...wait for it... 3 of Desmonds sons really seem to be casting the net far and wide to get the best possible candidate

Brilliant"In the running" is of course a load of nonsense as they wouldnt punt McKay without already knowing who they want and that person is wanted specifically for reasons connected to punting McKay. In other words he ticks the box(s) McKay missed.
Michael Nicholson looks and sounds like hes been created in a lab somewhere to fill this purpose in life.
As long as his old man keeps taking his dividends and doesn’t fund player acquisitions.Fritzls son wil likely end up on the board.
This is my gut reaction as well. Get a fully paid up bigot back to protect their interests at all costs in light of the pending court cases. He’s been sacked that for me is clear.
nda signed or no payout. He’s likely been put on gardening leave
my hunch is he hasn’t tied the party line re the separate entity bullshit
they have thrn placed the most catholic person they can find in charge who will die to protect their shameful acts
I was at the horror shows, including the 5-0 and the 5-1 Garner game. Thank god for these better times.I celebrated Clint Hills goal like a victory.
Another they were 5 up after 50 mins, I was relieved it finished 5 0.
Now, 7 games, 6 wins, their last win was with an offside goal, some turnaround.
Hopefully they get destroyed in court. This will only make it even sweeter for justice to finally be done. This is my gut reaction as well. Get a fully paid up bigot back to protect their interests at all costs in light of the pending court cases.
